A pulpotomy is a dental procedure in which the infected or inflamed portion of the pulp—containing nerves and blood vessels—is carefully removed from a tooth. This treatment is most commonly performed on primary (baby) teeth to preserve the tooth structure and maintain oral function. In some cases, it may also be used as an emergency intervention for adult teeth.
